Hello ChessGaja Families,

As the holidays roll in, we wanted to pause and share a few moments that reminded us why consistent effort matters in chess and beyond.

A Win Worth Celebrating

At the Singapore National Age Group Chess Championships 2025

(Under 11), two Chess Gaja students delivered performances to be proud of.

Kanav Raman showed calm, mature play throughout the event, earning a Gold medal through consistency and preparation.
Aurik Joshi secured the Bronze medal, standing out for his resilience and tactical sharpness.

Well done to both on a fantastic achievement.

Today's Topic is

Why India Is Producing So Many Strong Players

India’s chess success didn’t happen overnight—and it’s not just about a few superstar names.

What makes the difference is the ecosystem:

  • Tournaments happening year-round

  • Access to coaches at every level

  • Strong role models

  • Support that treats chess as a serious pursuit, not just a hobby

When young players regularly face strong opposition, improvement becomes inevitable.

But there’s another piece that matters just as much.

“Never abandon studies. Balance education and chess.”

This advice from experienced Grandmasters isn’t sentimental—it’s practical. Chess careers evolve. Education gives players flexibility, perspective, and long-term stability beyond the 64 squares.
